Who we work with
Although Save Mirfield is based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, we've built good working relationships with a number of organisations and networks below which are located across the country.
Our Chairman, Cheryl Tyler, is now also Chairman of the Community Voice on Planning which is a national network of groups promoting sustainable development. This is to ensure we aren't isolated in our approach and so that we can learn as much as possible about planning laws and developments.
Community Voice on Planning (CoVoP)
A national network of more than 109 groups who’s aim is to promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public. There are many groups around the country fighting developments on greenfield or green spaces and the Government does not seem to be listening, so a number of groups have decided to get together in the hope that a larger voice will enable us to influence government policies on behalf of all of those communities.
Kirklees Community Action Network (KCAN)
Facebook: Kirklees Community Action Network
KCAN (Kirklees Community Action Network) is an umbrella organization for many local campaigning groups across Kirklees who work to protect and enhance their communities.
If you’re an organisation or group and feel you would benefit from working together with us to tackle these issues, please get in touch.
Open Spaces Society
The Open Spaces Society is Britain’s oldest national conservation body, founded in 1865. We campaign for stronger protection and opportunities for everyone to enjoy commons, greens and paths. We defend open spaces against loss and pressures from development. We assist local communities so that they can safeguard their green spaces for future generations to enjoy.
